DESCRIPTION:Masters of their trade\, The Lonesome Ace Stringband brings grit\, skill\, and abandon to Americana music\, bridging old-time\, bluegrass and folk traditions into a seamless hybrid of original material that is at once fresh and timeless. \nThe trios sound is anchored in the fiddle and clawhammer banjo of John Showman and Chris Coole. They are joined by a rotating cast of extraordinary upright bassists (including founding member Max Malone\, Charles James\, and Lotus Wight). With a string of critically acclaimed studio albums  Stark\, literate songs that are as wide open as the landscape of his native Midwest (The New Yorker)\, “Beat-up troubadour folk whittled to dolorous perfection (Uncut)\, Songwriting Brilliance\, (Irish Times)  hes built a brick-and-mortar international touring career and a devoted following\, one that includes luminaries like Van Dyke Parks\, Greil Marcus\, and Don Henley.\nIn September of 2024 Jeffrey Foucault will release THE UNIVERSAL FIRE (Fluff & Gravy\, 9/6/24)\, his first album of entirely new material since 2018. A tootsie roll can take you back to your elementary school playground; a list of baby names becomes a prayer; the voice of a toothless refrigerator man reminds you to say I love you. Jenner Fox tells the stories of people and places with unparalleled compassion and respect. His artful tone\, poetry\, and fluency on his guitar do something only the brave ones do: let us in. \nJenner combines the lyricism of Joni Mitchell and the commentary of Neil Young to represent the next generation of singer-songwriters.  Grammy nominated producer\, Cookie Marenco \nSince their conception on an experimental cargo bicycle tour through California in 2021\, the Jenner Fox Band has delighted audiences up and down the west coast. The five piece band features pacific northwest all-star musicians on piano\, organ\, electric guitar\, bass\, dobro\, acoustic guitar\, and layered vocal harmony. \nSchmid & Guest will open the show. \nCayley Schmid and Aaron Guest met at the Bellingham Farmers Market in 2009. Desperately jealous of each other’s busking success\, they neutralized the competition and started a band together. This was the beginning of a decade-long musical partnership that descended into marriage. After the retirement of their band\, Polecat\, in 2020 Aaron and Cayley found themselves musically unsupervised by their bandmates for the first time. Together they play instrumental Celtic music on fiddle and piano. \n \nJenner Fox Band is the rare act that comes along and doesn’t sound like anybody else. Tropical Vacations? \nWho know’s what October’s Live Show will bring! \nJoin us for a night of true stories told live! \nSign up for a chance to share your own true story based on our monthly theme- or come to enjoy the true stories of your friends and neighbors (and everyone in-between). \nThe act of sharing our most authentic selves with other people in a safe and encouraging environment creates connection and allows us to see ourselves in others. \nStories can be entertaining\, heartwarming\, educational\, cringe inducing\, shame releasing\, vulnerable\, weird\, and all of the things in-between but they are always true\, always your own experience\, and always rewarding to tell and hear. \nDOORS OPEN AT 6:30 FOR PRE SHOW FESTIVITIES\, SHOW STARTS AT 7:00- \nSign up at the show for the chance to tell your own 5 to 10 minute story live on stage\, or just enjoy listening to the true tales and authentic adventures of your friends and neighbors. \nWe love small stories\, the stories that happen between the “big moments”- and we strive to make a place for those smaller and slower stories. \nRead our story guidelines and community agreements online! \nBasic Guidelines for Storytellers: \nNO SCRIPTS\, NO NOTES\, NO RANTS\, NO PERFORMANCE PIECES\, NO STAND UP COMEDY\, NO UNPROCESSED THERAPY\, NO PROPS \n\nStory Hour will have themes chosen ahead of time and we will select performers who submit their name into a random drawing process.\nStories must be TRUE and less than 10 minutes long!\nStories must be about YOU. Your story\, your version\, your view.\nPerformers for Story Hour will be chosen randomly from participants who self-submitted for the evening\nAll stories will be between five to ten minutes with a time moderator to help folx stay in their time limit\nPlease offer content warnings for any seriously triggering subjects presented in your story\nCensoring will not be employed\, but if a story being presented is clearly breaking Community Agreements or causing clear harm to the audience\, the performer will be asked to leave the stage and future performances may depend on a prescreening from the host.\nAll ages will be in attendance\, so plan accordingly.\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nTickets: Events | Bellingham Story Hour
