SUMMARY:Family Furniture
DESCRIPTION:Directed by Gregory Berry of Outsiders Inn\, this clear-eyed story of that certain\nsummer in 1950’s Buffalo\, New York\, when everything shifts for one particular family\,\nFAMILY FURNITURE explores the roiling troubles of WASP culture in mid-century\nAmerica. Amid the gin and tonics\, vichyssoise\, and tennis doubles of Buffalo’s\nsummer scene\, siblings Nick and Peggy must confront their mother’s possible\ninfidelity\, their father’s apparent indifference\, and their own increasingly complicated\nlove lives. FAMILY FURNITURE is a coming-of-age-tale of one certain summer\nwhen everything shifts. Adulting is hard\, and everybody has to do their part in this\nplay with adult languages and adult situations and Gurney’s incisive portraits of\nhumans trying to human.\nBTG SATELLITES is a partnership between the Bellingham Theatre Guild and the\nNew Prospect Theatre\, to produce low-budget theater outside the confines of the\nBTG. All performances are at the New Prospect Theatre\, 207 Prospect Street\,\nBellingham WA\, and advance ticket purchases are always encouraged. Questions\ncan be sent to satellites@bellinghamtheatreguild.com\nFAMILY FURNITURE is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing\,\nLLC\, serving the Dramatists Play Service collection.
