SUMMARY:Public Domain Movies - "Coconuts"
DESCRIPTION:*The Cocoanuts* (1929) is the first Marx Brothers feature film\, a musical comedy set during Florida’s 1920s land boom. Groucho plays Mr. Hammer\, a struggling hotel owner scheming to sell worthless real estate while dodging creditors. Meanwhile\, jewel thieves hatch a plan to steal a wealthy guest’s necklace\, and a romantic subplot unfolds between Polly Potter and architect Bob Adams. The film\, adapted from the 1925 Broadway musical\, features classic Marx Brothers comedy\, including the famous “Why a duck?” routine. \nOne of the earliest sound films\, *The Cocoanuts* recorded its musical numbers live rather than pre-recording them. The film showcases the talents of Mary Eaton\, Kay Francis\, and Margaret Dumont alongside the Marx Brothers. \nTickets: https://newprospecttheatre.thundertix.com/orders/new?performance_id=3126279

SUMMARY:YOU DIDN’T HEAR THIS FROM ME by Sean Walbeck
DESCRIPTION:BTG SATELLITES presents this Kaleidoscope ’25 award-winning production\, which is gonna be mostly some very frank\, though not obscene\, discussions of sex\, which will largely confuse you as to whether the actor who is telling the playwright’s story is actually telling you a true story.  (Actor\, playwright\, same guy.  Confusing\, right?)  And that confusion is EXACTLY the point.  The short play is presenting six times a day so you can bop in\, see the play\, be changed forever\, and bop out.  Pick the time that works best for your busy life\, and come on down to the New Prospect Theatre to enjoy theater that knows you’ve got places to be.  YOU DIDN’T HEAR THIS FROM ME performs at the New Prospect Theater (207 Prospect Street) Saturday May 3rd at 7pm\, 7:30pm\, 8pm\, 8:30pm\, 9pm\, 9:30pm and Sunday May 4th at 2pm\, 2:30pm\, 3pm\, 3:30pm\, 4pm\, 4:30pm. \nTickets $10 https://newprospecttheatre.thundertix.com/events/246245
